The area of the Bradford Hundred in Wiltshire -the modern civil parishes of Atworth, Bradford on Avon, Broughton Gifford, Holt, Limpley Stoke, Monkton Farleigh, South Wraxall, Westwood, Winsley and Wingfield.
Bradford on Avon museum only collects “stray” or chance archaeological finds, accidentally found in cultivating a garden or out on a walk. It can’t take on the products of deliberate planned excavations and their archives, which will be referred to the Wiltshire Museum in Devizes and the County Archaeologist in Chippenham.
However, members of the Museum’s Research Group undertake small excavations in the area.
