Exhibition – A Land Through Time

Over the course of the past year we have studied and recorded traces of the prehistoric, Romano-British , and medieval landscape over an area of 12 square km stretching from the town towards Winsley and Monkton Farleigh.
We have used ground-breaking LIDAR technology, and historic aerial photographs, to survey the area. The results have been plotted using GIS and checked on the ground by Museum volunteers.
A Land Through Time sets out the results of our year-long Ancient Landscapes project which was made possible with a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
