Re-opening at last!

More than two years has passed since the Museum closed because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Now, at last,  we have finally been given the green light to open by Wiltshire Council, the owner of the building in which the Museum resides.

We resume normal service on Thursday 19th May -normal except that we have reduced our hours by not opening on Wednesdays. During the two year closure some of our volunteer Stewards have decided not to continue, so it is increasingly difficult to cover some of the opening periods. New Stewards are welcome!

The Museum has needed little cleaning because of the very small exposure to dust. Even the Honorary Curator was barred from entry, or allowed for limited periods.

Newly displayed are the early 18th century portrait of John Bailward and a Roman silver finger ring that was found near the village of Broughton Gifford.

Entry is free, as usual, but donations to help make up our losses from two visitorless years are very welcome!
