New Museum Book

BudburyFromHillfortToHouses

The third in our monograph series focuses on the area that was the medieval manor of Budbury, on the northern side of the town and traces its prehistory and history from an enigmatic Late Bronze Age site, through an Early Iron Age Hillfort and a palatial double Roman Villa, right up to the present day. Roy Canham explains the archaeological  background, while Pam Slocombe examines the history of land tenure and buildings of an area that includes Budbury, Tory and the later development of Churches,  Bearfield and St Laurence School.

Rather more comprehensive than our normal booklets, it costs £7.50 and is available from 30th March at the Museum and at Ex Libris bookshop in the Shambles.
