The Bath Road at Farleigh Wick, looking towards Bradford, was much narrower in the early 20th century than it is now. The Fox & Hounds public house is on the right. The bus, probably the one that connected Bradford with the Bath tram at Bathford, may have been inserted to add interest to the picture.

Bradford on Avon’s K Company cyclists of the Wiltshire Volunteers, photographed in 1901 with their Captain, Erlysman Pinckney (seated in the centre). Pinckney lived at Duckmead House and owned a lot of land in Monkton Farleigh, but he is seen here at his previous home in South Wraxall.
