New book: a history of the rubber industry

.

Riding on rubber

Riding on rubber” is the Museum’s biggest publication to date, produced in collaboration with Ex Libris Press. A history of Bradford on Avon’s rubber industry, which was so important to the town’s economy until recently, has long been needed. Dan Farrell of the Moulton Bicycle Company has admirably filled the gap with a profusely-illustrated 112-page book that is the fruit of his researches. It covers the beginnings by Stephen Moulton in the 1840s, the Spencer Moulton, Sirdar and Avon companies right up to the end in 1995.

It is available at the Museum and at Ex Libris Bookshop, price £9.75
